Summer 2015 Beauty Favourities

I can't believe it's been almost two months since I posted on the blog. But I'm back & my aim is to post at least twice a week, I'm thinking maybe a Wednesday and Saturday!

Finally, I'm getting around to posting about my favourite Summer products. I thought the best way to come back would be to tell you about the products I've been loving since I've been away.

Lumière D'été Illuminating Powder
Chanel Lumière D'été Illuminating Powder
Chanel Lumière D'été Illuminating Powder- Unfortunately this was a limited edition product, but if you can find it anywhere I would urge you to pick it up! It was released as part of Chanel's Méditerranée Summer 2015 Collection. I've been a long time fan of Chanel bronzers, and I have to say this did not disappoint. It's definitely by far my favourite bronzer bar none! Although it's called an illuminating powder rather than a bronzer, it's definitely a light golden tan bronzer on me.
It's not completely matte, but isn't shimmery either, it just leaves a beautiful subtle sheen on the skin, it's very sheer but can be built up on the skin to achieve a deeper bronze look. Because it's sheer I find it very easy to apply as it is nearly impossible to over do it. I was also really impressed with the wear-time, 8 hours +. Also something to note unlike most of Chanel's makeup products, this bronzer has no scent to it.

Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette
Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette- I have been using this palette almost daily since I got it in April (I'm obsessed). My favourite go-to look at the moment is Coconut Creme as an all over base, Peanut Butter in the crease with Truffled in the outer corner and Butter Pecan on the inner half of the eyelid. Check out my full review of the palette here.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop
Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Melon Pop- Link! Clinique's Cheek Pops are one of my all time favourite blush formulas. They are powder blushes however they are so smooth (although not too soft) when applying they almost feel like a cream. They go on evenly, blend out beautifully and last all day. For more details check out my review of the cheek pops here. Recently, Clinique added four new shades to their cheek pop range- as soon as I saw Melon Pop I had to have it. It is a gorgeous pale nudey peach shade, that applies sheer, but can be built up for a more intense look. This is the perfect shade for giving you a soft Summer peachy glow.

Clockwise: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres in 202, Clinique Lip Colour in Berry Pop, Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in F-Bomb

Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Berry Pop- Link! Although this shade isn't particularly summery it is a lovely pinky berry shade with a hint of mauve, and is the perfect neutral every day shade. Again the formula of these lipsticks are amazing they are long wearing -while somehow managing to not dry out your lips! Check out my full review here for more details.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Le Vernis À Lèvres Pop Water Glossy Stain in Rouge Splash no 202 Link!  I absolutely love this glossy stain - not only the shade, but it's texture and wear-time too! When you apply the first coat it is quite translucent - but once you apply a second coat you get a brighter, more pigmented look. The idea behind these pop water glossy stains is that they're supposed to give the lips sheer coverage while providing vibrant colour. It feels very light and almost matte on the lip, with a very watery light weight texture when first applied. However once you wait a few seconds it starts to feel thicker and glossier on the lips. I have found the best way to apply them is to first apply a very thin layer of product, wait a few second for the texture to change and then apply a second coat. Once I did this I found that the glossy stain lasted 5 hours plus on my lips. It also feels comfortable and hydrating on the lips throughout the day! Check out my full review here.
Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in F-Bomb  Link! This lipstick feels very moisturising, it almost has a balm like texture. This is a bright pinky red colour yet because it's somewhat sheer it is a very wearable shade. I like to apply it lightly from the bullet and sheer it out even further on my lips with my finger.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light -Warm- Link! I use this  on my under eye area to conceal and brighten. This concealer is everything it says it is. It's lightweight, it doesn't settle into fine lines or go cakey, yet it still manages to conceal my dark circles. It lasts all day, I always set it with a powder to make sure it stays in place. Check out my full review here.

Vichy Teint Ideal Cream Foundation in No 25 Sand
Vichy Teint Ideal Cream Foundation in No 25 Sand
Vichy Teint Ideal Cream Foundation in Sand  - I discovered this foundation a few months ago, and have been using it almost daily ever since. Although it has quiet a thick texture, it still manages to feel light on the skin. I would say this foundation offers medium to full coverage and is definitely buildable - however does not look cakey (no matter how much I apply). The foundation leaves a luminous, radiant slightly dewy finish to the skin. I have been applying and buffing it into my skin with my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki brush. Check out my full review on this foundation here.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara-Link!  This mascara has a plastic comb wand (which I normally don't like) but I decided I had to give to a go as everybody seemed to be raving about it. I had convinced myself I wouldn't like it because of the wand - but I can confirm it is definitely worth the hype. It separates the lashes as well as providing length and volume. It lasts all day, doesn't smudge or flake off, and is easy to remove.

From Left: Dior Bronze Face Tan, Vita Liberata Phenomenal Dark Mousse Tan
From Left: Dior Bronze Face Tan, Vita Liberata Phenomenal Dark Mousse Tan
Vita Liberata Phenomenal 2-3 week Dark Mousse Tan- Link! I have been using this fake tan for years, it's by far my all time favourite. It has a slightly olive undertone to it, which means it doesn't turn me orange. The mousse itself is really easy to apply, it's got a dark colour guide which is amazing as you can easily see where you've applied the tan, I always let it develope over night and shower off the colour guide the next morning. I use a mitt to apply, I pump the mousse onto the mitt and then apply to my body, it goes on evenly and never goes streaky!
One application gives me a very light subtle colour, two application gives me a darker tan and three applications gives me more of a darker bronze look ( I would only really wear 3 applications to boost a fading natural tan). With one application the tan disappears after 7 days with two applications it lasts about 10/12 days with two applications. It fades gradually I don't even notice it happening It doesn't go patchy or uneven, it just fades away.

Dior Bronze Face Tan-  Link! I have also been using this for years, this is a silky smooth gel formula. It gives you a subtle golden tan. To apply it I put a small amount on a cotton pad and swipe it over my face. I usually do it as the last step in my night time routine. I apply it every second or third night, again it fades with cleansing and doesn't go patchy.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads- Link!  I bought these glycolic acid chemical exfoliating pads a few months ago, after I heard Caroline Hirons saying how good  they are. I was kind of nervous to try them as my skin is extremely sensitive a reacts to most products. The first time I used them I felt a little sting on my skin, however it only lasted a second or two. I thought it was worth noting that I have never felt the sting since. I use them both morning and night. They are said to exfoliate, tone and brighten the skin. I've definitely noticed the texture of my skin is smoother and softer than ever. I will have a full review on these soon!

From left: Blank Canvas Cosmetics E26 Blending Brush, E24 Flat Shader Brush
From left: Blank Canvas Cosmetics E26 Blending Brush, E24 Flat Shader Brush
Blank Canvas Cosmetics E24 Flat Shader Link! & E26 Blending Brush Link! - These brushes are amazing quality as well as being really affordable. The bristles are very soft and don't shed- I've had these for a few months now, they have been washed several times and have held their shape really well. I use the E24 to pack colour on the lid, while I use the E26 to apply and blend colour out in the crease, I have also used the E26 to apply shadow in the outer corners. I have been so impressed with them I recently ordered several more of both brushes. (cause you can never have too many).

Nía Calendula and Orange Blossom Cleansing Balm
Nía Calendula and Orange Blossom Cleansing Balm
Nía Calendula and Orange Blossom Cleansing Balm- Link! I have been using this for months and have been really impressed with it. The product itself is solid in the tin: I scoop a small amount out and warm it between my fingers- once the product is warmed up it turns into a oily/milky texture, which I then massage into my face, and rinse off with a face cloth.
This cleansing balm is made up of all natural ingredients and not only does it remove all traces of makeup (including eye makeup and stubborn mascara), it also leaves my sensitive dehydrated skin feeling really plump and soft. I will have a full review on this cleansing balm soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'd love to know what products you've been loving this month in the comments below.
