YSL Les Sahariennes Sun Kissed Blur Perfecting Bronzer

I've been using the YSL Les Sahariennes Sun Kissed Blur Perfector for a few weeks now. I'm obsessed with bronzers in general and I particularly love cream bronzers, namely the Soleil Tan De Chanel. However, I can only use it occasionally as, if I use it for more than a few days in a row, it starts to break me out.
I was so excited to try out this new bronzer from YSL. It is a balm to powder formula; it's said to give a blurring effect to the skin, helping to smooth out texture, disguise imperfections and minimise the appearance of pores. While at the same time giving a luminous bronze glow to the skin (what more could you want). It can be used all over the face for a bronze glow, or can be applied as a contour to help sculpt the face.

This bronzer comes in seven shades - I believe I have the darkest shade, called No7 Cuivre. When I initially saw this shade I thought it would be much too dark for me. Although it is quite dark, I can make it work, as it's incredibly easy to apply and blends out seamlessly.
The compact comes with a dual ended brush and fabric sponge-type applicator - however, I have found the easiest and quickest way for me to apply and blend this bronzer is with my fingers, as it just melts into the skin.
This particular shade is quite warm with a reddy undertone. You're supposed to be able to use this product as a contour or bronzer, but because this shade is so warm it works better on me as a bronzer.

Although this bronzer has a matte finish, it still manages to give the skin a subtle radiant glow - boosting the look of  my somewhat dull, dry skin. I have to say when I first felt this product, I thought it might be greasy on the skin as it does have a very emollient, creamy texture (due to the combination of oils in the product). However once applied and blended out, not only does it feel extremely lightweight on the skin but the oils evaporate leaving you with a very smooth soft powder finish.

I thought it was worth mentioning that there is silicone in this bronzer. I'm normally not a huge fan of silicone based products, as they can often feel heavy on my skin, and can be difficult to apply (I've had issues with products balling up on the skin in the past). However this product feels very lightweight on the skin, is extremely easy to apply and blends out beautifully. Over the last few weeks I've applied it several different ways (with brushes, sponges and my fingers), and haven't had any issues with it balling up or feeling heavy.

This bronzer is said to minimise the look of pores and smooth out the skins texture - and I can see why, given that it contains silicone (which is often used in products to help smooth out the skins appearance). While I can't really atest to it being able to reduce the look of pores as I don't have particularly large pores, I can say that in the areas where I apply the product my skin definitely feels softer and smoother. I was also extremely impressed with the wear-time of this bronzer - although it does fade very slightly after about 4 hours, it does last all day on the skin 8 hours +
I also thought it was worth mentioning this bronzer has the usual light pleasant floral scent that a lot of other YSL base products have.

The compact has a large mirror in the lid, making it really easy to apply/reapply on the go. I know I mentioned I prefer to apply this bronzer with my fingers, however if you don't want to use your fingers it also comes with a brush/fabric sponge applicator - which is easily kept together with thanks to the fabric pouch which comes with the compact.

I really loved everything about this bronzer: the texture is gorgeous, it is really easy to apply, the wear-time is impressive and the only thing that I was disappointed with was that the shade was a little too dark for me. I am absolutely going to try out a lighter shade as I think it would be easier and much more versatile for me to wear.

If you have normal/dry skin like me, I think you would love this bronzer. I'd love to know if anybody has tried it and what you thought of it.
This product was released 27th May with an RRP of €31, I have linked Boots.ie but I noticed that they have it priced at €45!
I've also reviewed some other YSL products from their Summer 2015 collection. Check them out here.

Please note this is not a sponsored post, however this product was sent to me as a PR sample - none of the links are affiliate links.
I hope you enjoyed the post and found it useful!
