Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette |
I have the original chocolate bar palette which I love, although I was very disappointed with the wear-time of the shadows - check out my full review here.
In saying this, I still really wanted to try the semi-sweet version of the palette, as I really liked the look of the shades. I was just hoping there would be an improvement in the wear- time of the shadows, which I'm glad to say there has been. They last about 6 hours (without primer) before they start to break down, although this is still not fantastic, it is an improvement on the original palette. And I've found that once I use a primer these shadows last all day. I haven't heard anyone else complain about the wear-time of Too Faced shadows - I'd love to know if any of you have had issues with their lasting power.
The other minor issue I had with the original palette, which they have also rectified with this palette, is that instead of putting the names of the shadows on a plastic overlay, this time they have put the names on the palette itself.

Licorice-This shade is a matte black. While it is pigmented, it's not the blackest black, it also has quite a powdery texture. However once you tap off the excess before applying, there is no fallout.
Coconut Creme- This is a matte cream/beige shade - it has a very soft smooth texture with decent colour pay off.Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette (From left):Licorice, Coconut Creme |

Pink Sugar- This shade is a frosty, glittery pink. I was very disappointed with this shadow, it really has no colour pay off, all you get is a small about of pink glitter. It also has quiet a dusty texture.
Rum Raisin - This is a cool toned taupe shade, with a grey undertone and a gold metallic finish. Again the texture is very smooth with decent buildable pigmentation and no fall out.
Mousse- This is a matte, light/medium neutral toned brown, with decent buildable pigmentation and again there is no fall out when applied.

Blueberry Swirl- This is a blue shade with micro fine blue glitter particles through it. Initially when I saw this shade, I didn't think I'd ever use it. However when I was trying it out I discovered that it looks really nice applied on the lower lash line, it just adds a little subtle colour to your usual neutral look (as pictured below). I will say I was disappointed with the pigmentation of this shadow, you do have to really pack the colour on to get decent colour pay off.
Caramel- This is a warm toned gold metallic shade. It has a really smooth texture with decent colour pay off and no fall out when applied.
Bon Bon- This is a warm rose gold metallic shade. This is the softest, smoothest and most pigmented shade in the palette.

Hot Fudge - This is a very dark, grey cool toned shade with gold mirco glitter particles through it. This shade is very pigmented, but its texture feels a little gritty and powdery. However once you tap the excess off before applying there's no fall out.
Peanut Butter -This is a matte warm tan shade with a slight orange undertone. It has quite a smooth texture and decent buildable pigmentation with no fall out when applied.
Frosting - This is a bronze shade with a gold metallic finish. It has a very smooth texture and excellent colour pay off.

I would recommend this palette to anybody - I have used it almost daily since I got it. You can create anything from a subtle everyday neutral eye to a dark smoky night time look. I'm pretty impressed with the texture of the shadows - overall they're all quite smooth and I haven't noticed any fallout when applying them. Although some of the shadows aren't as pigmented as I expected them to be, they're all buildable (with the exception of pink sugar). This makes them really easy to work with, as you don't have to be afraid of over doing it. Making this palette ideal for everyone to use from beginners to those who are more advanced.
There is also a leaflet included, which gives you a step by step guide with pictures of 3 different looks you can achieve using this palette.

Beautybay.com also ships to Ireland, they ship for free over €14. I ordered my Chocolate bar palette there ;) they don't have everything from Too Faced, but they've got a lot ;)

Hi Heather, At least you know you can get it from Roses Beauty Store. At the moment I think it's the only place you can get it if you're in the UK or Ireland :)
