Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer Review

These Lip Pop lipsticks are the latest offering from Clinique. There are 16 shades in the range including nudes, pinks, purples and berry tones Link!
They're said to be a lipstick and smoothing primer in one - the idea behind them is that they're supposed to be pigmented, comfortable on the lips and long wearing. Typically I have found long wearing lipsticks to be quite drying, on the other hand if a lipsticks feels comfortable and creamy on the lips it can tend to slip around and the wear-time is often disappointing. So I was very interested to see if these would do what they claim to do.
I also had high hopes for these Lip Pop lipsticks as I am still absolutely obsessed with the Cheek Pop blushes that were released last year - of which there are new shades being released very soon!

I have to say I have been really impressed with these lipsticks. They have a balm-like texture when first applied and don't feel too heavy on the lips, they apply evenly and are very pigmented. They are also fragrance free which I love, as some lip products can give me headaches if they are heavily scented.
Initially when you apply them, they have quite a glossy finish. However once they're on a few minutes they dry down a little, to more of a satin finish. When they dry down the balm like texture does disappear, however there is still slip to the lipsticks throughout their wear-time (don't worry they don't smear or bleed), it just means they stay feeling comfortable on the lips. They last an impressive 4 hours on me. In saying this, I have found they do have to be reapplied after eating.

I really like their packaging: they're really light as well as being quiet compact and simple. I especially like that you can see which shade is which at a glance without having to open each tube. I also love that the lids are mirrored, which makes them easy to apply on the go.

I decided to go for two somewhat neutral shades, Plum Pop and Grape Pop. I didn't want to go for a bright shade without trying them first, as I wasn't sure how they'd wear. However now that I know they don't slip around and the wear-time is excellent, I think I might just have to pick up Punch Pop!

I  really like these lipsticks, I feel that they deliver what they claim. They are pigmented, comfortable on the lips and are long wearing (maybe not the 8 hours Clinique say) but I think 4 hours with no touch ups needed is still impressive! I would definitely recommend them to anyone. There is a wide variety of shades to choose from (so there should be something for everyone), I also think the price point is excellent at €19.50 given the quality of the lipsticks.

Please note I purchased all of the products mentioned. The above links are not affiliate links.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and found it useful!

    1. Hi Jasmine,They're both really wearable, but if I had to choose between the two shades I think I'd pick Plum Pop as the shade is slightly more flattering on me.
