Max Factor Creme Puff Blush Review

I haven't used many Max Factor products recently except their 2000 calorie mascara - which I love! And I can't forget about the pan stick foundation which I wore for years as a teenager. - (not my finest look).
I am a self confessed blusher addict, so when I saw these Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes on 3 for 2 in Superdrug I just had to pick them up!
Apparently there are six blushes in the collection but I've only ever seen four shades in both Superdrug and Boots Link!
The shades that I chose are Seductive Pink, Lovely Pink and Nude Mauve. When I first saw these I immediately thought they looked very similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes- check out my full review of those blushes here.

I've no idea why these blushes like the rest of Max Factor's powder products are called ''Creme Puff'' as they are a powder formula not a cream.
These are baked marblized blushes with a gorgeous soft, smooth texture, they apply evenly and blend out beautifully.

Seductive Pink -This a darkened pink shade with subtle plum veining and a very small amount of silver micro glitter through it.  This shade is the most pigmented of the three. When applying this blush, one swipe of my brush picks up enough product for each cheek. Even though it's quite pigmented it is not difficult to apply as it blends out effortlessly.

Nude Mauve- This is a beige nude taupe shade with soft mauve veining and again has a very small amount of silver micro glitter through it. It's not quite as pigmented as seductive pink, but it still has decent very buildable colour payoff. This shade provides subtle definition to my face while giving my cheeks a golden taupe glow.

Lovely Pink- This is a peachy pink shade. Out of the three, this has the most silver micro glitter through it. This shade is also the least pigmented of the three, in saying this the colour payoff is still decent and it's very buildable and like the previous two shades it blends out beautifully. It leaves a glow along the cheekbones as well as a subtle wash of colour.

I love all three shades, They all have decent pigmentation but yet are still very buildable and blendable. As well as providing softened colour to the cheeks they also give me a gorgeous glow. I have to say I was a little surprised at the price of them, they're €11.49 each (which I think is pricey for an affordable makeup brand). But after using them I think they are definitely worth every penny!
The only thing I was slightly disappointed with was their wear-time. They lasted about 5 hours before they started to fade on me and by hour 7 they were gone. While this isn't bad, I would have preferred them to last a little longer (I know I'm being really picky).
I would absolutely recommend these blushes to anyone, I have been so impressed by them!

I want to very briefly compare the Creme Puff blushes to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes. The Hourglass are very similar to these Max Factor in that they are both glowy highlighting blushes with veining through them.
Although I did like the Hourglass ones I wasn't blown away by them, I also had some kind of mild allergic reaction to them.
Both blushes have a gorgeous soft and smooth blendable texture with decent pigmentation. However the Hourglass are a little more finely milled than their Max Factor counterparts. and there are micro glitter particles the Creme Puff blushes which are not prominent in their Hourglass counterparts. The wear-time of the Hourglass is a lot better- lasting 8-9 hours whereas the Creme Puff only lasts about 5. Taking all these things into account, I would choose the Max Factor blushes as I don't think there is enough of a significant difference in their quality to warrant the huge difference in their prices. The Hourglass blushes are 3 times the price of the Max Factor blushes!

I'd love to know if you have any other blush recommendations which you think I should try. Please let me know in the comments below.

    1. Hey Gyudy, I know it;s such a pity- the wear time is the only downside. These are blushes that should be reapplied after 5 hours x

  2. I also felt like these wore off/went patchy quite quickly! Glad it's not just me. They're still very pretty though xx

    1. Hey Jasmine, It's such a pity that their wear-time let them down. I didn't notice them going patchy, they just seemed to disappear on me. x
