I was late doing my Best of 2014 post Link!, so I decided not to do a January favourites. Because of this I thought I'd have loads of favourites to talk about this month. However, when I went to gather the products together for this post I realised I only had six favourites. Two are rediscoveries and four are new discoveries. I've been using them almost daily, and am absolutely obsessed with them!

Smashbox Contour kit
Smashbox Contour kit
Smashbox Contour Kit- Link! I picked this palette up at the end of January. It contains a contour shade, a bronzer shade, and a highlight shade. I really like this palette - the contour shade is a gorgeous cool toned powder with buildable pigmentation. The bronzer is a warmer tan shade - just a word of warning if you're pale you have to be careful, because if you over do it, it does have a to tendency to make you look a little orange. However once you apply it with a light hand, this isn't an issue. The highlight shade is a slightly yellow toned matte powder, it gives a very subtle highlight to the face. Check out my full detailed review here.

Becca Wild Honey Blush
Becca Wild Honey Blush
Becca Mineral Blush in Wild Honey - Link! I only got this towards the end of February, but it was love at first sight. I've worn it daily since I got it. It is a tan shade with a slight yellow undertone (honey is a very accurate description of this shade). There are tiny shimmer particles running through it. This blush is very finely milled - but is not too powdery, applies evenly to the skin and lasts all day (about 8 hours)

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
 Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Benefit Roller Lash- Link! I was given a sample of this at my local Benefit counter in Boots. It gives me light, fluttery lashes. It lengthens and separates while providing long lasting curl. My only issue with it is that it's quite difficult to remove. Check out my detailed review here.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
 Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette- Link! I picked this up from Debenhams in December. While I was a little disappointed with the lasting power of the shadows, I found that once I use an eyeshadow primer there's no issue with their wear time. I have used this palette almost daily through January and February to create a simple, quick neutral eye look. My 'go to' combination of shadows is: White Chocolate all over the lid with a mixture of Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate through my crease, with Semi Sweet in the outer corner and Marzipan in the inner corner, and on the inner half of the lid. Check out my detailed review here - including close up photos and swatches of all the shadows in the palette.

Chanel Allure Eau de Parfum
Chanel Allure Eau de Parfum
Chanel Allure Eau de Parfum- Link! This was a rediscovered favourite. I wore this perfume years ago and found a new, unopened bottle when I was going through my stash last month. It is light and fresh, while at the same time managing to be woody and sophisticated. I'm useless at describing scents (that's the best I could do), so I did a bit of research to try and find out what notes are in it. Apparently, it has fruity notes of bergamot, peach, madarin and lemon - as well as floral top notes of jasmine, peony, magnolia. with base notes of sandalwood and vanilla.

MAC Faux Lipstick
MAC Faux Lipstick
Mac Faux Lipstick- Link! This is another rediscovery, this shade is really popular at the moment thanks to Kylie Jenner. It was actually on my list of things I wanted to get. Again, I was going through my makeup stash in January and realised I already had it. It's a neutral pink shade with a slight mauve undertone, and has a satin finish. It's a great everyday neutral - it also looks lovely paired with a smokey eye!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'd love to know what products you've been loving this month in the comments below.

  1. I really feel like I need that smashbox palette in my life, I swatched it at boots and it was love.
I also want to try faux but it's been out of stock everywhere I've been.
