Current Loves #6 (September 2014)

I didn't get a chance to do an August favourites post last month, so this month I have a good mix of products - including makeup, skincare, haircare and even some random things thrown in.

Nars Kalahari Duo- Link! This is a rediscovered favourite, I've been loving this eyeshadow duo for a quick, simple everyday look, These shadows are smooth pigmented and blendable. There is a gold shade with mirco shimmer through it, and a metallic warm bronze with a slight purple hue to it. I like to pack the golden shade on the lid with a flat shader brush. I then apply the darker bronze shade in the crease with a MAC 217 brush.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick in Dynamic- Link! It has a very creamy texture and is a very pigmented, opaque, warm neutral pinky brown shade. It's the perfect autumnal colour for me. check out a close up photo of this lipstick from my Instagram here. It feels very comfortable on the lips and lasts about 4 hours on the lips. The packaging is a weighty plastic, it also has a magnetic closure which I love because it means that it won't open in my handbag!
Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Reveal Foundation- Link! I've been using this foundation for over a month now and I absolutely love it! It gives medium coverage but can be built up for a more full coverage look. It does not look cakey or feel heavy on my skin and leaves a slightly dewy luminous finish. Check out the full review for more details here.
Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde  Mascara - Link! I've also been using this for a while now and I am really impressed with it. I picked it up on a whim at the same time as the foundation because Bourjois products were on 3 for 2 in Boots. To be honest, I was very skeptical when I bought it as it has a rubber brush which I have not liked in other mascaras in the past But I have been pleasantly surprised by this mascara. I have found it provides a decent amount of length and a lot of volume. I have also noticed it doesn't transfer or flake when I apply it, but it's not impossible to remove either.  I have a detailed review of it with more pictures coming this week.
Nars Ita Kabuki Sculpting Brush- I have been using this brush everyday to contour my face, the brush is flat and narrow, making it ideal for sculpting out cheekbones as you can achieve a very precise application of bronzer/contour powder with it. Check out my detailed review on this brush here.

No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Makeup Remover - Link! I first tried this at the very beginning of September I picked up Benefits They're Real mascara in duty free when I went on holidays . I was finding it impossible to remove, even with my trustee Emma Hardie cleansing balm. One of my friends had the No7 eye makeup remover with her so I tried it and was really impressed. It's a bio phase remover so you have to shake it up before you use it. I put it on cotton pads, hold them on my eyes for a few seconds and gently wipe away my eye makeup. when I bought it I used one of the No7 vouchers you get in boots which made the remover about €5!
Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel- Link! This cleanser has a thick gel texture that turns into a oil once applied to the skin. It has a very herbal spa like scent. I like to use this in the morning as I find its scent refreshing which helps to wake me up. I apply it to dry skin massage it into skin then  rinse it off using a face cloth. It doesn't leave my skin feeling tight, yet there's no oily residue left on my skin. I also really like that this cleanser comes in a bottle with a pump, as it's hygienic, and it doesn't get messy. One piece of advice though.... Do not use on your eyes, I did and it really stings. It does say avoid contact with eyes but I thought I'd just check...unpleasant experience!
Vo5 Ultimate Hold Weather Resistant Hairspray- Again I picked this hairspray up after using my friend's on holidays. I use it when curling my hair, - my hair is very long with practically no layers which means its very difficult for my hair to hold a curl. However, this hairspray managed to hold my curls all night in very hot, humid weather while still leaving my hair soft and flexible. I was also delighted that it can be brushed out very easily.
Trussardi Delicate Rose eau de toilet - Link! My mum was actually given this as a present, I "borrowed" it  a few weeks ago  and have been wearing it everyday. It's a very light sophisticated scent. I normally don't really like rose scented things - however I love this. I have to admit as hard as I have tried, I can't really smell the rose in it - which might explain why I like it so much. It also has jasmine in it, which is a a scent I like. As well as the floral scents it has a  distinct, light fresh fruity undertone to it. I feel like I haven't done the scent justice with this description. Please go smell it!

#Girlboss - I read this book at the very beginning of the month. It was written by Sophia Amoruso, who is the founder and CEO of  Nasty Gal - the online clothing and accessories website. The book starts off by briefly mentioning the  significant points in Sophia's life. Throughout the book she talks about how and why she made the decisions and did things the way she did - which has ultimately lead to the incredible success of Nasty Gal. The book is not a blue print of how to create a successful business, it more describes Sophia's attitude, drive and passion which helped her achieve success. I found it really inspiring and motivational and would recommend it to any girl .

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what products you've been loving this month in the comments below.
Please note I purchased all products mentioned and none of the links provided are affiliate links.
