Chanel's ÉTATS POÉTIQUES Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection

Chanel's ÉTATS POÉTIQUES Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection
I picked up two items from the ÉTATS POÉTIQUES Autumn/Winter Collection a few weeks ago. I decided on the Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 234 Poesie and the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 160 Innocence.

Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow 234 Poesie
Poesie Eyeshadow Quad Link!- This is a limited edition palette, it's made up of four baked shadows. These shadows were recently reformulated, I've had numerous quads over the years - none of which have been very pigmented. However this quad is a vast improvement with the introduction of these baked shadows compared to previous ones.
All four of these shadows in this palette have micro glitter through them. They also have a very soft blendable texture, with no fall out when applied.

Top Left Shade- This is a pale bronze metallic shade, with silver micro glitter through it. I have found there is a sheen on this shadow that almost looks wet when applied. Although this shade isn't extremely pigmented, however it is buildable and does have decent pigmentation.  I like to apply it on the lid from lash-line to crease, packing the colour on with a flat shader brush.
Top Right Shade- This is a pale beige/cream metallic shade, with silver micro glitter through it. I like to use this as a brow-bone or a inner corner highlight.

Bottom Left Shade- This is a pale lilac metallic shade with silver micro glitter through it. It's a perfect inner corner highlight. I also like to use this on the inner half of the eyelid. This shade again has decent pigmentation.
Bottom Right Shade- This is the darkest shade in the palette. It's a dark purple shade with gold micro glitter through it, perfect to smoke out the outer corner. It is extremely pigmented and has a soft smooth texture.

These shadows last about 5 hours before starting to show signs of wear. However, if I apply my Nars pro prime eyeshadow base, they last about 8 hours.
This quad also comes with a booklet which shows you a few different looks you can create using these shadows.

Joues Contraste Powder Blush 160 Innocence Link!-This blush is a dusky pink colour with tiny micro silver glitter particles through it. The first thing I noticed was its very strong rose scent. I have sensitive skin, so I was initially concerned that this might cause my skin to break out. However, I've been wearing it everyday for over a week and my skin has not reacted at all.
This blush has a soft, blendable texture and is very pigmented. I like to apply this along my cheekbones. With regard to wear time I have found that this lasts about 5 hours on the skin before it starts to fade.
I really like both of these products, However, I feel that the lasting power of both products is a little disappointing especially given the steep price tags. I would recommend the eyeshadow quad purely because I absolutely love the combination of colours and I have found that once you use a primer underneath, the shadows should last all day!
I also thought it was worth mentioning that I swatched the single soft touch eyeshadows in the collection I particularly liked the shade called Hesitation Link!- These shadows felt incredibly soft and smooth, and were extremely pigmented. I think these shadows would definitely be worth checking out.

Pictured below: On my eyes I applied the top left shade all over the lid to the crease, the top right shade under the brow bone as a highlight, and the bottom right shade in the outer corner blended up into the outer half of my crease. I also applied a small amount of this dark shade along the lower lash line to smoke out the look a little. On my cheeks I applied the Innocence blush lightly along my cheekbones.
In addition I am also wearing Bourjois volume 1 seconde mascara, Bourjois healthy mix radiance reveal foundation in No 52 Vanilla - and to finish the look I applied NXY butter gloss in Vanilla Cream pie on my lips.
