Chanel's ÉTATS POÉTIQUES Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection |
I picked up two items from the ÉTATS POÉTIQUES Autumn/Winter Collection a few weeks ago. I decided on the Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 234 Poesie and the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 160 Innocence.

All four of these shadows in this palette have micro glitter through them. They also have a very soft blendable texture, with no fall out when applied.
Top Left Shade- This is a pale bronze metallic shade, with silver micro glitter through it. I have found there is a sheen on this shadow that almost looks wet when applied. Although this shade isn't extremely pigmented, however it is buildable and does have decent pigmentation. I like to apply it on the lid from lash-line to crease, packing the colour on with a flat shader brush.

This quad also comes with a booklet which shows you a few different looks you can create using these shadows.

This blush has a soft, blendable texture and is very pigmented. I like to apply this along my cheekbones. With regard to wear time I have found that this lasts about 5 hours on the skin before it starts to fade.
I really like both of these products, However, I feel that the lasting power of both products is a little disappointing especially given the steep price tags. I would recommend the eyeshadow quad purely because I absolutely love the combination of colours and I have found that once you use a primer underneath, the shadows should last all day!
I also thought it was worth mentioning that I swatched the single soft touch eyeshadows in the collection I particularly liked the shade called Hesitation Link!- These shadows felt incredibly soft and smooth, and were extremely pigmented. I think these shadows would definitely be worth checking out.
Pictured below: On my eyes I applied the top left shade all over the lid to the crease, the top right shade under the brow bone as a highlight, and the bottom right shade in the outer corner blended up into the outer half of my crease. I also applied a small amount of this dark shade along the lower lash line to smoke out the look a little. On my cheeks I applied the Innocence blush lightly along my cheekbones.
In addition I am also wearing Bourjois volume 1 seconde mascara, Bourjois healthy mix radiance reveal foundation in No 52 Vanilla - and to finish the look I applied NXY butter gloss in Vanilla Cream pie on my lips.
Please note I purchased all of the products mentioned. The above links are not affiliate links.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and found it useful!
