Bourjois Healthy Mix Radiance Reveal Foundation Review

I picked up the Bourjois healthy mix radiance reveal foundation Link! a few weeks ago in Boots. I decided on shade 52 Vanilla. This foundation is available in eight different shades, ranging from very pale to dark. I noticed that some of the paler shades have pink undertones while others have yellow undertones, meaning that there should be a shade to suit most people. This shade is a really good match for my skin - it has a slight yellow undertone to it, which I find really good for cancelling out any of the pink undertones in my skin.

This foundation has quite a firm liquid gel texture. It is infused with fruit extracts which are said to hydrate and help provide a radiant healthy luminous glow to the skin. It provides a medium coverage that can be built up to full, if you prefer.

I apply one pump to my face for medium coverage and a pump and half for a more full coverage application bringing any excess down onto my neck. I like to apply it with my Sigma flat top F80 kabuki brush so I can really buff it into my skin. The foundation gives excellent coverage, but doesn't look heavy or cakey. I have normal/dry skin, and I find it leaves a lovely slightly dewy luminous finish on the skin. Bourjois claims that this foundation lasts up to 16 hours - however I have found that although the lasting power is good - it doesn't last 16 hours as it claims. It lasts about 8 hours on my skin.

One thing that stood out to me initially about this foundation was its strong scent. However, once applied the scent does disappear. The scent is very pleasant but I was worried that because it is so heavily scented that it might break me out as I have very sensitive skin. However I've wore it everyday for about 3 weeks and so far so good!

In the above photo I applied the Bourjois healthy mix radiance reveal foundation, then Nars radiant creamy concealer under my eyes. I dusted a very small amount of the Hourglass ambient lighting finishing powder in diffused light down my T- zone. I then applied the new Chanel blush from their Autumn/Winter collection in Innocence along my cheekbones. I also used the Poesie eyeshadow quad from the same Chanel collection. Check out my review of the Chanel collection here I applied one coat of the Bourjois 1 seconde volume mascara (review coming soon) and finally for my lips, I applied the NYX butter gloss in vanilla cream pie.

This foundation is on the more expensive side for a high street brand at €13.99, but it's regularly on 3 for 2 at Boots making it even better value.
I have been really impressed with this product - it's fast taking the place of all of my high end foundations. While my all time favourite is still the YSL le teinte touche eclait, this foundation definitely rivals it, and at less than half the price I would recommend checking it out!
I would love to know what your favourite foundations are in the comments below.

  1. I have this foundation but in the serum version and I really like it. It's nice to see that this is also a really good version. I'll definitely look into it once I run out of my current one :) x

  2. I always shy away from bourjois as they never seem to quite suit my skin, but I might have to have a quick peek next time I'm around boots as this looks gorgeous on! I find it so weird that some foundations have a smell, it definitely makes me wary, but it's good to know it hasn't broken your skin out.

  3. I didn't like the previous Healthy Mix formulas, but I'm interested to try this formula. Like you, my skin can be sensitive to highly-fragrance bases, so it's good to hear you haven't had a bad reaction. It looks lovely on your skin :)
