Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Multi- Coloured Powder Review

I picked these up about a month ago - these are both limited edition shades, the powders are infused with antioxidants as well as broad spectrum SPF 15/PA++. The first thing I noticed about them was their floral scent. I love this scent but it may be a bit overpowering for some people. I also thought it was worth noting that I have sensitive skin but I have had no problems with these powders.

Light Harmony No1

Light Harmony No1 is the lighter of the two compacts - This is a sheer powder, it consists of a pale beige toned highlight with tiny glitter particles through it. There is also a pale matte bronze shade and finally a peachy/pink blush shade with no shimmer, although this shade has no shimmer it does leave a lovely sheen on the skin. The idea behind this powder is that you can apply the shades separately to different areas of the face or swirl your brush over all the shades to create a subtle glow on the high points of the face.
I have found that because this powder is so sheer, it is very difficult to achieve an all over glow with it. Instead, I like to swirl my Sigma F40 large angled contour brush over the three colours, and apply it to my cheekbones for a light peachy glow. The powder lasts approx 8 hours on the skin and wears evenly.

Swatch of all three shades swirled together in No1 compact
Applied the colours swirled together from the No1 compact along the cheekbones, on the temples down the centre of the nose & across the forehead.

Light Harmony No2

Light Harmony No2 - This is the darker of the two compacts. This is a sheer bronzer which can be built up for a deeper colour. It is made up of a pale beige shimmery highlight shade, a warm tone tan matte bronzer with a slight orange undertone to it. And finally the last shade in the compact is a warm red toned bronzer. This shade has no shimmer in it - however it does leave a sheen on the skin.
I have found that this bronzer is a little too warm toned to wear as a contour. However I really like it as an all-over bronzer. I sweep my Real Technique blush brush over the three shades in the compact applying it to  the high points of my face  (cheekbones, temples, across the forehead and on the jaw-line). It leaves a warm bronze glow to the skin.
From left: middle shade, bottom shade, combination of all three shades, top shade in compact.

Applied the colours swirled together from the No2 compact along the cheekbones, on the temples down the centre of the nose & across the forehead.

Of these two compacts I prefer the darker compact, I like the way you can build up the colour on the skin and I like the sheen it leaves and it's lasting power is excellent. However, I do feel that there are equally nice bronzers available without the €49 price tag!
The lighter compact is very sheer (you really have to apply a lot of powder to get any colour payoff). I feel that you can find an equally flattering blush shade that prehaps has more pigmentation without the €49 price tag!
I also noticed that after I swatched these powders a hard coating started to appear across the top of the powders. I had to scrape the coating off to continue using them!
These Compacts are limited edition, so if you do want to pick one up they will only be available for a short amount of time. Link!

Please note I purchased all of the products mentioned.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and found it useful!

  7. Thanks for this review. It was really concise and great to hear your honesty. I actually love the floral scent of this line - the healthy glow fluid also has the same smell and I absolutely love that product (review is on my blog). Shame about the powders as the packaging is so damn cute! Saying that, I'd probably drop it and it would smash into a million pieces the following day....! Keep up the good work :) xx
